I am currently sculpting in two methods.
In this process I roll individual slabs of clay and sculpt them into one landscape. They are dried and fired to 2000. F. They are then mounted on wood panels and painted in an artist acrylic with archival (anti-fading) properties. A paper template is prepared and included for ease of hanging.
In this process paper clay and plaster mediums are sculpted on metal armature mounted to lightweight wood frames. It does not require firing, which coupled with the lighter weight allows me to produce larger scale single pieces. This surface once dried is painted with archival quality acrylic.
